No question: the decision of the jazz clubs, the season opener for originally planned concert by the "Supertramp" catch- guitarist Carl Verheyen, proved to be spot on. For the first time a concert was on a Sunday night on the program of the jazz clubs, the midnight also was able to celebrate an anniversary: exactly 25 years ago, the association opened its current home on 97th Königswall At the time the guitarist Carl Verheyen played just two years at the legendary rock band "Supertramp". Millions of fans have since then he looked at the finger.

With his own band, he stood on stage at the Jazz Club Minden, so near to the audience in the front row, who pursued his outstanding virtuosity and shaking his head in amazement. Exceptionally, the speed with which Carl Verheyen his instrument elicits the most insane sound sequences. Outstanding is the precision with which he plays every little note. Catching the immense joy that it can always lead to a happy laugh.

Spontaneous ideas like a "Sunday Night in Minden"

Exemplary of the enormous pressure he together with his congenial companions Dave Marotta on bass builds and Jason Smith on drums, and a shining example, the accuracy with which they play every note exactly on point and make changes in rhythm the second. Here lay the musicians so amazing effortlessness to the day that the full extent of their most complex game of the listener only on closer inspection reveals a little.

With perfect timing, great technical playing ability and instinctive certainty, the three move through a variety of timbres between rock and blues. Varied is the journey through a stylistically diverse repertoire from their own compost and ion own cover versions, which reveal the sympathetic bandleader as expressive singer.

With "Taxman" pays about Carl Verheyen his early childhood idol, George Harrison tribute, he surprised with a furious solo on the Acoustic Guitar or provides with spontaneous ideas as the title "Sunday Night in Minden" for amusement. Boundless enthusiasm discharges with the audience again and again to thunderous applause. A touching solo lecture followed by Jimi Hendrix "Little Wing" as the first encore, and after another two encores, the band released a heavy heart from the stage. A terrific evening with a great band.
